Actensa brings experience from assignments across financial services, public sector, industry and critical operations. Our work ranges from advisory and assessments to transformation, implementation and interim leadership.
The examples below illustrate how we help organisations strengthen resilience, manage change and turn complex requirements into practical results.
Degerfors Municipality – Building Business Continuity Capability
Situation
Degerfors Municipality needed a common and practical approach for maintaining critical services during serious disruptions. Existing continuity planning lacked a cohesive structure, common methodology and sufficiently developed plans.
What we did
Actensa helped establish a business continuity approach adapted to the municipality’s size and operating model. Using Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB) methodology as a foundation, we developed practical methods, templates and tools, supported the development of continuity plans and transferred knowledge to enable continued work within the organisation.
Result
The municipality gained a common structure, practical tools and improved capability to develop and maintain continuity plans. The locally owned approach also helped build organisational engagement and provided a foundation for continued development of business continuity.
Global Bank – Reducing Operational Risk in Critical Payment Services
Situation
A leading global bank had identified risks and weaknesses in payment services supporting large corporate clients. The environment included complex infrastructure, legacy communication protocols and dependencies on key personnel, requiring coordinated action across both technology and organisation.
What we did
Actensa helped shape and lead a risk reduction programme involving stakeholders across the bank, from technical specialists to senior management. The work included guiding principles, improved system documentation and governance, migration from obsolete communication protocols, strengthened lifecycle management of security and infrastructure components, and detailed assessments of critical infrastructure.
Result
The programme achieved significant reduction in operational risk and key-person dependencies while improving understanding of the bank’s actual risk exposure. Findings were escalated to senior governance, including the CIO steering committee, and also contributed to improvements in the bank’s operational risk assessment and processes.
Kronofogden – Strengthening Preparedness through Business Continuity
Situation
Kronofogden needed to strengthen its preparedness for serious disruptions. Existing business continuity plans varied in structure and maturity and did not consistently meet internal requirements, making it difficult to maintain a clear and usable set of plans across the organisation.
What we did
Actensa assessed existing continuity plans and information repositories and their alignment with policies and procedures. We introduced a common and practical continuity plan template, validated it with representatives from critical processes and established a structured collaboration area for managing plans, responsibilities and improvement activities. The approach was aligned with relevant standards, including ISO 22301.
Result
Kronofogden gained a common foundation for continued development of its business continuity capability. Deliverables included a practical continuity plan template, completed plans for key areas, a structured repository for managing and monitoring plans, and training material supporting continued work within the organisation.
Airport Operator – Time-Critical IT Transition of Central Services
Situation
A major airport operator was changing strategic IT outsourcing provider and needed to migrate central IT services to a new server infrastructure within a highly constrained timeframe. The transition affected business-critical services supporting flight operations and required close coordination across business, IT, legal functions and both the outgoing and incoming suppliers.
What we did
Actensa led a sub-program responsible for the application migration and transition of central IT services. The assignment covered five workstreams and approximately 50 participants and included migration of applications, servers and workplace-related IT services. The work also included securing the approvals required to maintain uninterrupted operations, coordinating decisions across multiple stakeholders, active risk management, change management related to the supplier transition and regular reporting to the steering committee.
Result
The transition was completed within the agreed and highly time-critical schedule. Deliveries were executed according to plan, including the migration of central IT services to the new infrastructure and transition to the new strategic IT supplier, without unplanned disruption to business-critical services. The structured coordination and approval process helped maintain continuity for the airport operator’s customers throughout the transition.
Critical Infrastructure – Applied AI for Business Continuity
Situation
Organisations responsible for critical services need to develop and maintain business continuity capabilities while managing increasing requirements for security, resilience and preparedness. Actensa initiated a pre-study to explore how applied AI could provide practical support for continuity management in security-sensitive environments.
What we did
Actensa led the initiative from concept towards a working solution, with responsibility for governance, requirements, budget, technology platform selection and supplier coordination. The work included validating requirements and use cases with users in the public sector and translating continuity management needs into practical AI-supported capabilities. Particular attention was given to secure deployment, information handling and requirements arising from Swedish protective security legislation.
Result
The initiative demonstrated how AI can be applied to practical continuity management rather than used only as a general-purpose assistant. A working foundation was established for AI-supported continuity activities, while experience was gained in bringing together business requirements, AI technology, security and regulatory considerations in a controlled environment.
Garantum – Interim IT Leadership & Governance
Situation
Garantum, a leading Nordic provider of structured financial products, needed to strengthen IT leadership, establish clearer governance and prepare for a strategic CRM replacement. The assignment also required coordination across business, IT and regulatory perspectives while maintaining operational pace.
What we did
Actensa provided interim IT leadership with responsibility for strengthening governance and day-to-day management of the IT function. The work included establishing operational governance forums, clarifying roles and responsibilities, supporting recruitment of a new IT Manager, facilitating the decision process for a strategic CRM replacement and conducting governance reviews ahead of regulatory compliance assessments.
Result
Garantum gained clearer IT governance, more defined responsibilities and improved management structures for the IT function. The assignment also supported the transition to permanent IT leadership and established a stronger basis for strategic technology decisions and regulatory readiness..
